Peer review process

Initial screening and technical validationAll submissions are assessed for journal scope, completeness of files, and compliance with the official JDHAB template before editorial assessment.
Editorial assessment and similarity checkThe Editor-in-Chief or a designated editor evaluates originality, scientific contribution, and integrity. Similarity screening may be used before external review.
Double-anonymized external peer reviewResearch manuscripts are evaluated by at least two independent experts selected for subject expertise, publication record, and absence of conflicts of interest.
Editorials and invited contentEditorials, commentaries, and invited perspectives undergo internal editorial assessment and may not undergo external double-blind review.
Editorial independenceWhen conflicts exist, submissions are handled independently by an appropriate editor with authority over reviewer selection, review management, and decision handling.

Publication ethics

Ethical framework

Editorial decisions are based on scientific merit, methodological rigor, and adherence to recognized publication ethics standards, including COPE and ICMJE principles.

Authorship and responsibility

Authorship must reflect substantial scholarly contribution and shared responsibility. Gift, guest, and ghost authorship are not permitted.

Conflicts and funding

Authors, reviewers, and editors must disclose financial, commercial, institutional, or personal interests that may influence evaluation or interpretation.

Human and animal research

Research involving human participants or animals must report appropriate ethical approval and informed consent, including publication consent for identifiable material.

Originality and misconduct

JDHAB may investigate plagiarism, redundant publication, fragmentation, fabrication, falsification, image manipulation, and other integrity concerns.

Corrections and retractions

The journal may issue corrections, expressions of concern, retractions, or other editorial notices to protect the accuracy and integrity of the scholarly record.

Privacy statement

JDHAB collects and processes personal data solely to support legitimate journal operations. These include manuscript submission, peer review, editorial communication, publication, indexing, archiving, and compliance with applicable legal and ethical requirements.

Only data necessary for journal operations and scholarly communication are collected. Manuscripts, peer-review materials, and editorial communications are handled with appropriate confidentiality. Limited data sharing may occur with essential service providers, such as hosting, email, indexing, DOI registration, and archiving services, when necessary for journal operations.

Archiving and preservation

JDHAB maintains publication records and article files through the journal platform and supports preservation of published content, metadata, issue records, and editorial documentation needed to protect the continuity of the scholarly record.
